14 April, 1912

The dinner service was coming to an end in the First Class Dining Room. Most of the evidence of the opulent feast had been cleared away by the waiters. All that remained were the empty dessert plates and glasses of sherry.

He smiled as he watched her, his new bride. Her finger idly traced the emblem of the White Star Line adorning her plate as her eyes scanned the room. They had people watched all evening, recognizing the elite of the elite in their presence.

His eyes, however, kept returning to her. Her deep purple evening gown hugged her body. Her sculpted hair was up off of her shoulders, just the way he liked it. Her new pearl necklace draped elegantly around her exposed neck.

Finishing his sherry he caught her eye and smiled.

"Let's go for a walk."

They stepped onto the Promenade Deck. A shiver passed through her, the air off the North Atlantic particularly chilly this evening. He quickly had his coat off, draping it over her shoulders. She smiled up at him, his hands remaining on her arms as they walked.

There was no moon in the clear night sky and the stars sparkled brilliantly. Her eyes reflected them when he stopped to look at her. Her gaze shifted from the twinkling sky to him, a shy smile crossing her face when she realized he had been watching her.

"What?" she laughed.

He didn't answer, instead leading her away from the railing and into a small alcove. Her back pressed against a life preserver, arching slightly. His hands slid around her waist, his body pressing close. He kissed her deeply, her lips parting to let him in. She melted into him. Breaking the kiss, his lips moved to her bare neck.

"How scandalous," she giggled, slapping his arm playfully. She quickly slipped into a moan when his lips found her earlobe. She shivered again, but not from the cold.

"Let's warm up in our cabin," he whispered, his breath hot on her neck. She nodded and took his arm, stepping away from the life preserver, the words "R.M.S. Titanic" imprinted along its curve.
